Bus Service to Ligüerre

Fly to Madrid or Barcelona

For our international guests, the most convenient way to reach Liguerre de Cinca is by flying into either Barcelona or Madrid. These two airports are the nearest international hubs and are well-connected to Zaragoza by both train and bus. You have the flexibility to choose between taking a direct bus or train to Zaragoza. For international guests we are arranging a private bus to take you from Zaragoza Delicias to Liguerre Resort.

Check back in April for exact details for bus departure from Zaragoza Delicias to Liguerre Resort.

Private Bus

For guests travelling from Madrid, Barcelona, or abroad we have organized a private bus to take you to Liguerre Resort. The bus travel time will be between 2-2.5 hours. The bus will depart from Zaragoza Delicias train and bus station at 3:00PM on Friday. We will indicate the exact pick up location as we near the wedding, it will be one of the stalls located downstairs in the bus section of the Delicias Train/Bus Station. The bus has been arranged and no payment is needed to take this transport. There will only be one bus shuttle service to the wedding on Friday, so please arrange to arrive on time. There will be a return service on Sunday leaving Liguerre Resort at 1:00PM and arriving at Zaragoza Delicias Station between 3:00-3:30PM.

Guests coming from outside of Spain have priority to reserve a seat on the bus.

High Speed Train

The most effective way of travelling in Spain from city center to city center. Airports will take you longer as security is generally a long line and gates close in advance, and they're located well outside the cities.

Zaragoza Delicias is the name of the main train and bus station in Zaragoza, it's located midway between Madrid and Barcelona and is accessible by high speed rail, it often is a stop between the two major cities. You can book your train tickets to Zaragoza Delicias on www.trenes.com, there are three major companies that run high speed rail, which are AVE, Iryo, and Ouigo. When taking the high speed rail from Madrid or Barcelona please plan to arrive to the train station 30-60 minutes in advance. The train stations are large and there is a security line to get into the platform area, and a ticket-checking line to get onto your designated platform. As Zaragoza is a stop on the way to Madrid or Barcelona make sure you look for your exact train time and its final destination when looking for your platform. It's likely that the final destination will be Barcelona or Madrid. Zaragoza will not be listed as a destination, it will be listed as a stop.

There is no train to Liguerre Resort, you will either have to rent a car in Zaragoza or take our private bus.

Train Booking:

Book your train tickets on www.trenes.com or trainline.com or directly on the train companies website: RENFE.COM for AVE high speed rail tickets, or IRYO.EU or OUIGO.COM.

Carsharing/Taxi Cabs

Cabify and Uber are available in some cities however limited due to taxi lobbying. Uber will give you the option of booking a real taxi in Barcelona. Most cities have FreeNow app available to pre-book a taxi, download it in advance. FreeNow is like Uber but for real taxis. Or just do a the old school thing of hailing a cab, they are generally affordable. All taxis are legally required to accept credit card, but to avoid trouble ask if you can pay with credit card before starting the ride. Taxi rides to/from airports and city centers are usually predetermined amounts of around 35 Euros. Each city will have taxi stands near hotels and stations. Taxis in Madrid are white with blue striping. Taxis in Barcelona are black and yellow.

Car rentals

Book cars well in advance as they are typically small and have a manual transmission. Things in Spain move in a mediterranean pace and often businesses are under-staffed. Practicing patience will only make your vacation more enjoyable. There are car rentals at every airport and train station. Apple Maps and Google Maps are generally accurate. If you cannot drive a manual transmission then make sure you book an automatic transmission rental well in advance as car rental places do not have many of them. Your American or other-EU driver's license will work just fine. If you see signs for speed cameras make sure you are driving within speed limit otherwise you'll receive a souvenir in the mail. There is generally 10% of margin forgiveness, but it's best to not test it as the camera will take a photo of you and your rental company will forward the fine to you. Make sure you have a USB cable for Apple Car Play or Android Auto. DO NOT get a car rental while you're vacationing inside Madrid or Barcelona. Many areas in the city center are closed to traffic or to vehicles within a specific smog level (essentially EV's have the most freedom). Driving in these cities is not fun, so save yourself the hassle and enjoy the beauty of amazing public transit.

Car refueling:

Gas/petrol has two grades; for gas/petrol look for "95 Octane Gasolina (Sin Plomo)" and "98 Octane Gasolina (Sin Plomo)". These have green handles to the pump guns. The latter is normally revered for higher performance cars, so your car rental will be just fine with 95 Octane Sin Plomo. Pro tip: while looking at your fuel gage there will be a triangle pointing to the side where your fueling port is. Remember diesel is much more popular in Spain than it is in the USA, so do not assume a pump is not diesel.

Diesel/gasoleo also comes in several grades. One is only to be used for agricultural purposes. Look for "Gasoleo A" for diesel. These have black handles for the pump guns, and generally the nozzle will be bigger and should not fit in the fuel port of a gas/petrol car.

If you're renting an EV you can find a map of charging stations on www.electromaps.com, make sure to read about the access to the charger and if you need a RFID card to gain access. Tesla Superchargers are open to the public to non-Tesla EV's, you'll have to make an account in advance and make sure the chargers you want to use are open to the public.

Public Transit

The metro in Madrid and Barcelona is extremely easy to use. You can purchase a 10-pack and it's quite affordable. Buses are readily available and often used by the elderly. Google Maps is okay but I find Citymapper to be a great public transit App with more options and accurate schedules.

Trains for day trips: Mid-distance trains for day trips outside of the city are located at large train hubs. In Madrid it's called "Cercanias" and there's a large station underground in Sol and Nuevos Ministerios metro stations. Atocha and Principe Pio are large regional train stations. In Barcelona it's called "Rodalies". These are the trains that connect Barcelona El Prat Airport with Sants Train Station.

Driving to Liguerre Resort

From Barcelona the trip is about 3 hours and is quite easy. You won't be on any steep mountain one-way roads.

From Madrid the trip is slightly over 4 hours by car. Neither journey goes on toll roads. Isn't free great? The speed limit is in km, and generally is a bit higher in miles than you are used to in the U.S.
